Philosophy

• Committed to being a purely physician-owned, physician-managed, and financially transparent organization. Physicians maintain full control of their practice. Strong governance and physician leadership are provided by an 11-member board and a dedicated medical director.
• Support the success of independent practice physicians in evolving models of healthcare reimbursement, as well as quality and value performance.
• Use our core competencies to promote evidence-based medicine, data sharing, quality, and cost reporting– developed over many years in furthering an all-payer, all-patient approach.
• Believe that a cornerstone of building a viable network of physicians responsible for Population Health Management is optimizing and maximizing each practice’s ability to understand its patients using the practice’s EHR and HIT.

History

Recognizing the impact on physician practices of emerging population health management and value-based contracts, the boards of Oakwood Primary Care Physicians and Wyandotte IPA merged organizations to create Accountable Healthcare Advantage in 2009.

Since then, Accountable Healthcare Advantage has consistently been recognized at both the local and state level as a high-quality, cost-effective PO with successful experience managing risk across multiple plans and programs while assisting practices to exceed or meet HEDIS quality measures.
